Dhaka: Jatiya Party co-chairman GM Quader will be the chairman of the party in absence of his elder brother and party’s current chairman Ershad.

HM Ershad made the announcement in a statement issued on Tuesday night, reports the UNB.

‘As Jatiya party’s founding chairman I would like to inform the party’s leaders and activist and supporters at all levels that current co-chairman Golam Mohammed Quader will act as the Jatiya party chairman in absence of me,’ he said.

Ershad further said ‘I hope party’s national council will also elect him as its chairman like me and entrust him with party’s overall responsibilities.’

Ershad also said GM Quader will assist him as long as he will act as the party’s chairman.
