Laxmipur clash: 26 Jubo League men among 76 sued
Laxmipur: A case was filed on Wednesday against 76 people including 26 Jubo League men in connection with the clash between police and ruling party men at Sadar Hospital that left 10 people injured.
Sub-inspector Abdul Alim of Sadar Police Station filed the case against 26 identified Jubo League leaders and activists and 50 unidentified people on charges of obstructing police from discharging duties as well as carrying out attack on police and vandalism, reports the UNB.
Abdullah Al Noman, general secretary of district unit Jubo League, was among the accused.
ASM Mahtab Uddin, superintendent of Laxmipur police, said Fazlur Rahman, general secretary of Laharkandi union unit Awami League, was stabbed and injured by one Delwar Hossain over previous enmity.
Later, the activists of Awami League and Jubo League beat Delwar mercilessly and handed him over to police.
As soon as the news spread, a group of Jubo League men swooped on the Sadar hospital where the two victims were undergoing treatment. Later, they tried to launch an attack on Delwar.
When police tried to resist them, a clash was ensued among police and the Jubo League men, leaving ten people including four policemen injured.
