Satkhira: A class three girl was killed after being violated allegedly by a college student at Gabtola village in Ashashuni upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Sushmita, daughter of Proshanto Das and class a class III student of Gabtola Government Primary School, reports the UNB.

Police arrested alleged rapist Joydeb Sarker, son of Nirmal Sarker and a student of Budhhata BBM Collegiate College.

Victim’s father said that Sushmita used to go at Nirmal’s daughter Ambika every afternoon for private tuition. As Ambika was not at home on Sunday, his brother Joydeb taught Sushmita.

As there was no one at Joydeb’s house, he violated Sushmita there.

As Sushmita became senseless, Joydeb threw her into a pond, he said.

When her family members along with villagers started to search her, Joydeb picked the body up from the pond and kept it at his bathroom.

On information, police recovered the body from the bathroom of Joydeb’s house around 11am and arrested Joydeb, said Biplob Kumar Nath, officer-in-charge of Ashashuni Police Station adding that Joydeb confessed to his guilt in primary interrogation.
