Bullet-hit body of ‘drug trader’ found in Satkhira
Satkhira: Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a suspected drug trader from Tetulia Biswashpara in Tala upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Maijuddin Ahmed Tulu, 40, son of Shamsul Haq Sardar of Sadar upazila, reports the UNB.
Locals spotted the body in the morning and informed it to police, said Mehedi Russel, officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected that Tulu might have been killed in a clash between two groups of drug traders.
Police also recovered 160 pieces of Yaba tablets, 15 bottles of phensidyl syrup, a motorcycle and a cellphone from the spot.
However, Rahima Begum, wife of Tulu, said her husband, a rod-cement trader, was picked up by detectives while returning home on January 13 and since then his mobile was found switched off.
Later, Rahima lodged a general diary with Sadar Police Station.
