Noakhali: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said people have rejected BNP for its negative politics.

‘There’s no new thinking about BNP as the country’s people have rejected it for their negative politics and cast their votes to make Sheikh Hasina victorious,’ said Obaidul while speaking at a rally held at Hatiya Dwip Government College ground in Hatiya upazila, reports the UNB.

The government will take initiatives to resolve the problems of the residents of Hatiya, including steps to check river erosion, setting up electricity lines and road renovation, he said, adding, ‘Steps will be taken to construct blocks for checking river erosion in the upaizla by March 15.’

The Awami League general secretary also urged the leaders and activists of the party to behave well with people and win their hearts.

Later, the minister visited the erosion-hit area in Nalchira Ghat and distributed clothes among the destitute.
