Gazipur: Two suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Rathura village in Kaliganj upazila early Wednesday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet, reports the UNB.

A group of robbers numbering 10-12 swooped on the house of one Majnu Mia in the dead of night, said Abdul Quader, chairman of Nagori Union Parishad.

Sensing danger, the inmates of the house raised alarm seeking help, he said.

Later, locals chased the robbers and caught two of them while the others managed to flee the scene.

The angry mob gave the duo a good thrashing, leaving them dead on the spot.

On Information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue, said Abu Bakar, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station.
