5 promoted to senior secretaries

Dhaka: The government has promoted five secretaries to the rank of senior secretary.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

Those promoted are Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain, Security Services Division Secretary Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Shah Kamal, Youth and Sports Secretary Mohammad Abdullah and Social Welfare Secretary Jewena Aziz, reports the UNB.

All of them will continue to serve in their present workplaces, according to the notification.

Meanwhile, in a reshuffle in the administration, four top government officials have been transferred and given new postings.

As per another notification, Cabinet Division Secretary (Coordination and Reform) NM Ziaul Alam has been transferred to the Information and Communication Technology Division while Anti-Corruption Commission Secretary Dr Md Shamsul Arefin replaced him. 

Railways Additional Secretary Abul Kalam Azad has been made acting member of the Planning Commission while Muhammad Dilwar Bakht, member (secretary) of the Planning Commission, made ACC Secretary.

Besides, Dr AFM Manjur Kadir, additional secretary to the Primary and Mass Education Ministry, has been made Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education and Md Fazlul Haque, additional secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, made director general of the National Museum of Science and Technology.
