Shariatpur: A young man hacked his father to death and wounded his mother over a family feud at Anakhanda village of Naria Upazila in the district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Rahim Bepari, 60, reports the UNB. 

Officer-in-Charge of Naria Police Station Manjurul Haque Akanda said Rahim’s son Naim Bepari, 25, hacked his parents with sharp weapon indiscriminately around 4 pm over a family feud.

The injured Piara Begum was admitted to Sadar Hospital with severe injuries to head, he said.

Naim, who is suspected of being mentally unstable, was arrested after the incident, the OC added.
