Man hacked dead; son’s limbs severed
Chittagong: Miscreants chopped a man to death and severed a hand and a leg of his son at Kalichhari in Rangunia upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was Mohammad Wakil Ahmed, 50, of Kalichhari village while the injured was Ismail, 15, reported UNB.
Rangunia police officer-in-charge Humayan Kabir said Wakil and son came under attack by a group of 10 to 15 miscreants in the area at noon while they were working in a field.
The attackers chopped Wakil with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot. The miscreants also severed a hand and a leg of his son Ismail with a sharp local weapon.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue while his son was admitted to the same hospital.
Wakil might have been killed by miscreants as a sequel to previous enmity over the ownership of a land, said OC Humyan Kabir adding that they are trying to arrest the killers.
