Manikganj: Health Minister Zahid Malik on Saturday said that there is no scope to excuse doctors if they commit injustice to patients or neglect their duties.

Disciplinary action will be taken against them, warned the minister while speaking at a prize-giving ceremony at Colonel Malek Medical College in the upazila headquarters as the chief guest, reports the UNB.

‘A united nation can do anything… currently, the nation is united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and it was proved during the fire incident at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where not a single patient sustained injuries or died,’ he said.

The minister also announced to establish a cancer hospital at each of the divisional cities.

Principal Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the programme where Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous, Superintendent of police Rifat Rahman Shamim and Manikganj Municipality mayor Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim, among others, were present at the programme.
