Gazipur: State minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah on Monday said that government will take initiative for holding a unified Biswa Ijtema with presence of the two feuding groups of Tabligh Jamaat from next year.

The state minister came up with the remarks while visiting the Ijtema ground on the 2nd day of Biswa Ijtema  attended by the followers of Indian Islamic preacher Maulana Muhammad Saad Al Kandhalvi, reports the UNB.

The junior minister also said that Ijtema is being held peacefully without any problem and efforts will be there to hold a unified Ijtema next year.

On second day of second phase of Ijtema, the religious Bayan was delivered by Indian Mursalin which was translated in Bangla by Mawlana Abdullah Mansur.

The Akheri Munajat will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am.

BiswaIjtema, now being held on the bank of the Turag River with the participation of the followers of Indian Islamic preacher Maulana Muhammad Saad Al Kandhalvi has been extended by another day as heavy rain disrupted the congregation on Sunday morning.

On Saturday morning, the Akheri Munajat of the followers of Maulana Jubair Hassan was held on the same ground.

TablighJamaat has been organising the Ijtema at the venue since 1967.
