Home Minister seeks ‘effective role’ of media to control drugs
Dhaka: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday said controlling drugs will be possible if the media plays an ‘effective role’.
He came up with the remarks at the inauguration programme of new daily ‘Dainik Somoyer Alo’ at Bangabandhu International Conference centre in the city, reports the UNB.
‘It was possible to control militancy as the media played an effective role. Media can play an important role for protecting the youth from the dangerous effects of drugs,’ he said.
He also urged the nation to come forward to help build a drug-free society.
The minister said he hoped the newspaper ‘will highlight the country’s history, heritage, and development progress’.
