Kidnapped expatriate rescued

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive rescued a Libya expatriate, who was kidnapped 15 days ago, from the city’ Purana Paltan area on Thursday.
Mongnethothai Marma, assistant superintendent of Comilla Crime Prevention Company 2 of RAB 11, said Siyam Ahmed Manik, 27, a resident of Pandarai village of Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district, remained missing since he had been picked up by some miscreants from Purana Paltan area 15 days ago, reports UNB.
The kidnappers demanded Tk 50 lakh as ransom from his family.
Siyam’s brother Bahar Uddin gave a written compliant to RAB in this regard.
A team of the elite force conducted a drive at Dipman village of Daudkandi upazila in the evening and rescued him, said the ASP.
They also arrested two alleged kidnappers — Motaleb Hossain and Akhter Hossain in this connection.
