HC orders judicial probe into Sylhet circuit house fire

Sylhet: The High Court ordered Sylhet Metropolitan Session Judge to conduct judicial inquiry into the recent fire incident in a VIP room of the circuit house which had been reserved for Finance Minister AMA Muhith and Chief Justice SK Sinha.
The court ordered the Metropolitan Session Judge to submit the report within the next 7 days. Reports UNB.
Mohammad Azizul Haque, deputy registrar (Administration and Judiciary) on behalf of general register Syed Aminul Islam of the High court division, sent a letter in this regard through fax on Thursday.
Earlier on 2 March, the fire broke out in two VIP rooms in the new building of the circuit house. The fire gutted the furniture, television, AC and other valuables in the room. However, none of them were in their rooms when the incident occurred.
Later a 6-member probe committee was formed by Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Jamal Uddin to investigate the incident.
The two rooms were kept reserved for S K Sinha and AMA Muhith for rest during their tour here for the inauguration programme of digitization of Sylhet courts.
