Lakshmipur: Miscreants torched principal’s office of Mirganj Girls’ High School at Raipur in Lakshmipur on Monday night.

Principal Shamsud Tawhid filed a cased naming unidentified person with Raipur police on the same day.
Security guard of the school Ahsan Ullah said miscreants set fire to the principal’s room after pouring petrol as he was out of the school premises at about 8:30am.

 The fire damaged some furniture and valuable documents of the school. The local people doused the fire.

Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sharmin Alam and Raipur police officer-in-charge Manjurul Haque Akhand visited the spot after being informed.

OC Manjurul Haque said police has already collected clues from the spot.
