Munshiganj: The ferry, which got stuck in a shoal in the Padma river on Shimulia-Kanthalbari ferry route during Sunday’s storm, was rescued on Monday morning after 16 hours.

The ferry named ‘Ramshri’ carrying 20 vehicles and several hundred passengers ran aground in a hidden shoal at Hazra point in the evening which caused immense suffering to passengers, reports the UNB.

Abdul Alim, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation, said that the ferry was rescued around 10:15am. Later, it reached Shimulia ghat around 11:15am.
