Manikganj: A suspected thief was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Entajganj Bazar in Shibalay upazila early Monday.

The deceased was not identified immediately, reports the UNB.

Locals said night guards caught the man around 1:30am while he was attempting to enter the grocery shop of Ibrahim Miah at the bazar cutting tin fence.

At one stage, local people gathered there and gave him a good thrashing, leaving him dead on the spot.

Mohiuddin Ahmed, additional superintendent of Manikganj said on information a team of police went to the spot.
