PUMA opens first flagship store in Bangladesh

Dhaka: PUMA, a global sports brand, made its entry into the Bangladesh market with the launching of this brand’s first flagship store.

Located in the high streets of Banani Road 11 (house 153/E, road 11, Banani, Dhaka 1213) the store is amongst one of PUMA’s biggest stores in South East Asia, said a press release.

Spread over the 2,200 square feet, the outlet showcases the widest array of the brand’s latest performance and sport-style products.

The store layout, brand and campaign imagery and product display, all has been integrated to provide the consumers with an immersive experience of the Puma brand.

Talking about the launching of their first store in the country, Abhishek Ganguly, Managing Director, PUMA India said, ’Bangladesh has a rapidly growing sporting culture and is a strategically important market for us to be in. We are excited to establish our presence in this country, in the heart of it’s capital. This being one of the biggest PUMA stores in South East Asia is a testimony of our commitment to all the professional and aspiring athletes here. We aim to promote the growth of sport in this nation, supported by our unmatched equipment and gear.’

M. A. Jabbar, Managing Director of DBL Group added, ’We are incredibly proud to open the first PUMA brand store for Bangladesh at this iconic location. We are looking at expanding our footprint in the region and what better way than launching our very own flagship store. Through our iconic flagship store we are looking at bringing the best of PUMA experiences and product to our consumers.’

Sharing his reaction to the opening of the flagship store, Mushfiqur Rahim said, ‘It’s exciting to see a globally leading sportswear brand like PUMA come in to Bangladesh. Such news is motivating for professional athletes like me and sport enthusiasts across our country, as we see this a recognition of our evolving sporting environment. I can’t wait to check out the store and hope we see many more PUMA stores in Bangladesh in the near future.’

The country’s most notable personalities, star cricketers of the Bangladesh Cricket Team, were present at the opening of this store - Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Imrul Kayes, Liton Kumar Das, Abu Hider Rony and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat.

Also present at the launch were senior management members from PUMA India and DBL Group, including – Pulak Chaudhary, Business Head – Multi Brand Channel, PUMA India, Abdul Wahed, Chairman – DBL Group, M. A. Jabbar, Managing Director – DBL Group, M.A. Rahim, Vice Chairman – DBL Group and M.A. Quader, Deputy Managing Director – DBL Group.
