Bagerhat: Police arrested a 12-year-old boy for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl at Bahirdia in Fakirhat upazila on Friday night.

The arrestee was identified as Arma Hawladar, 12, son of Habib Hawladar of the village.

Abu Zahid Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Police Station, said Arman violated his little cousin when they were playing together at a house on Thursday, reports the UNB.

Hearing screams of the victim, locals went to the spot and rescued the child.

Later, victim’s mother filed a case with Fakirhat Police Station.

The victim was taken to Sadar Hospital.

Meanwhile, police arrested the boy from his house.
