Dhaka: A motorcyclist was killed and his elder brother injured as a train hit their motorcycle on Moghbazar level crossing in the capital early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Sabil Hossain Rifat, 26 while the injured is Md Riaz, 30, sons of M A Selim Hossain of Gulbagh area, reports the UNB.

Md Magfur, assistant sub-inspector of Hatirjheel Police Station, said the accident took place around 12:30am when the motorcyclists were trying to pass the level crossing ignoring the signal, leaving them seriously injured.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Sabil dead around 1:15am.
