Dhaka: State Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Tuesday urged people involved in the waterways transportation sector to ensure safety of Eid holidaymakers.

He also emphasised tightening security measures, reports the UNB.

Khalid made the call at a meeting on action plans for safe and secure travelling of holidaymakers during Eid-ul-Fitr. The meeting was arranged by the Shipping Ministry at BIWTA Bhaban in Dhaka.

He claimed that holidaymakers have faced less trouble during commuting in the past few years.

‘We’ll take necessary measures to ensure a safe passage for people who’ll be visiting their homes during this vacation,’ he added.
