Rajbari: A man was shot dead by criminals at Sarisha Bazar in Pangsha upazila early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Pikul Biswash, 40. He was the brother of Sarihsa Union Parishad chairman, reports the UNB.

Pikul was ambushed when returning home from Sarisha Bazar around 1am. He was shot and stabbed, said Ahsan Ullah, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station.

He was first taken to Pangha upazila health complex and then shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The motive behind the murder could not be known yet.
