Chattogram: Police arrested a student who participated in West Bengal’s popular Television comedy show ‘Mirakkel’ on Wednesday for allegedly raping a Chittagong University student.

The accused is also a student of the university’s dramatics department.

He was arrested from the campus after a female student filed a case against him, said Belal Uddin Jahangir, officer-in-charge of Hathazari Police Station.

According to case statement, the two met on Facebook in January last year and had an affair. The accused later forced the girl into a physical relationship by blackmailing her.

The victim said Kaikobad asked her to meet him on April 29 on the campus. He allegedly verbally abused her and physically assaulted her before dragging the girl to the Shah Amanat Hall’s guest room.

Later, the university’s proctorial body members rescued her, the victim said.
