Cumilla: Police arrested a man in Nangalkot upazila here on Saturday for allegedly assaulting a mentally-challenged boy sexually.
The arrestee is Javed Hossain, a father of three. He is the son of Yusuf Miah of Mairagaon village in the upazila, reports the UNB.

Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Nangalkot Police Station, said Javed called the boy through his daughter when he came out of his maternal grandfather’s house on Thursday afternoon.

Later, he took the boy to a nearby tree orchard and committed a sexual assault on him after tying him with rope, he said.

As the boy complained of body pain on Friday, family members asked him about the reason and he narrated the incident.

Later, a complaint was lodged with the police station and police arrested Javed on Saturday in this regard.

The OC said arrestee will be produced before a court on Sunday while the victim was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for medical test.
