Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday asked the authorities concerned to provide assistance to cyclone Fani victims after quick ascertainment of loss and damage.

She also prayed for the salvation of the deceased persons, who died during the cyclone, and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families, reports the UNB.

The Prime Minister, who is now in London, directed the leaders and activists of Awami League to cooperate with the administration.

Cyclone Fani hit Bangladesh on Saturday morning, damaging houses and cropland. At least six people were killed in lightning strikes in Kishoreganj on Friday when the peripheral impact of the cyclone was felt.

Ten more deaths were reported from across the country on Saturday.

The damage to lives and properties was reduced thanks to the government’s adequate preparations.
