GM Quader to be acting Jatiya Party chairman in Ershad’s absence
Dhaka: As he cannot carry out party activities due to his illness, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Saturday night appointed his younger brother GM Quader as the party acting chairman.
In an organisational instruction, he also announced that GM Quader, cochairman of the party, will discharge the responsibilities of Jatiya Party chairman in his absence, reports the UNB.
Ershad also asked his party’s leaders and activities at all levels to extend all-out cooperation to his brother,
‘As I’m physically ill, the regular functions of the party chairman are being hampered that’s why I appoint GM Quader, MP, as its acting chairman to perform duties until my further instructions,’ he said.
He said the decision will come into effect immediately.
