Thakurgaon: A student reportedly killed himself at Lalapur Jangalbari in Baliadangi upazila on Monday night after failing the Dakhil examination.

The deceased was identified as Sahab Uddin, 16, son of Ekramul Haque of the village. He attended Dakhil examination from Madhupur Noyadighi M Rafiq Alim Madrasa, reports the UNB.

Shahab took gas tablets and fell sick shortly after learning about his result, said Mosabberul Haque, officer-in-charge of Baliadangi Police Station.

He was taken to Baliadangi Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital where he died.
