President hosts Iftar for alem-ulema
Dhaka: President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday hosted an iftar party for alem-ulema, war-wounded freedom fighters, family members of Birsresthas, orphans and officials and employees of Bangabhaban.
He exchanged pleasantries with the guests and enquired about their well-being at the iftar party arranged at Darabar Hall of the presidential palace, reports the UNB.
A special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country. Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Mosque Maulana M Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat.
Family members, including President’s spouse Rashida Khanom, were present at the iftar party.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, State Minister for Social Welfare Sharif Ahmed and State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah were present.
A good number of war-wounded freedom fighters, eminent Islamic scholars, orphans from different child homes, and officials and employees of Bangabhaban attended the iftar party.
Secretaries concerned to the President also took part in the programme.
