Dhaka: Stating that Andaleeve Rahman Partha’s Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) left the 20-party out of a huff, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday said it will be fixed soon to keep the coalition intact.

‘As politics is now going through a bad time, some partners of the alliance may suffer from a sense of irritability. It’ll be over soon as the top leaders of BNP and its alliance partners will take an initiative to fix it,’ he said.

Rizvi came up with the remarks while speaking at a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, reports the UNB.

He also said the 20-party alliance will remain united and continue to carry out different programmes together.

On Monday, Andaleeve Rahman Partha, chairman of Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), one of the key partners of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, said he quit the coalition for various reasons, including swearing in by seven MPs-elect of Jatiya Oikyafront.

Rizvi alleged the government is resorting to various tricks and games to split the 20-party alliance. ‘There’ll be no rift among those who have been working together and carrying out a movement for democracy for the last 10 years.’

He also said the unity of the 20-party partners will be cemented further in the days to come.
