Keep CNG refilling stations open 24/7 during Eid
Dhaka: Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Nazrul Islam on Thursday requested the power ministry to keep CNG refuelling stations open round the clock for seven days before and five days after the Eid-ul-Fitr, reports the UNB.
He came up with the request while talking to reporters after a meeting at the secretariat.
Islam claimed that the condition of roads is better than before and that the authorities concerned will take steps immediately if there are any issues.
‘There won’t be any public suffering on the road [during the Eid holidays],’ he said. ‘Trucks won’t be allowed on highways for three days before and after the Eid.’
Drives will be conducted for checking ticket prices and monitoring the ticket counters, Islam said.
Three vigilance teams will work at three big bus stations of the city and a control room will be opened at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority for checking unfit vehicles, the secretary added.
