Substandard Products: BSTI cancels licenses of two more companies

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Thursday cancelled licenses of two more companies for producing substandard products.

BSTI cancelled the licenses of S M Consumers Products, Chattogram for its substandard chili powder and Kiron Traders of Naogaon for its vermicelli, reports the UNB.

Besides, it suspended production of 25 substandard products.

It cancelled the license of seven products and suspended the license of 18 food products of different companies on Wednesday for the same reason.

BSTI recently tested 406 food samples by a surveillance team. Among those 52 food samples were found to be substandard and adulterated.

BSTI ordered stopping of production, supply, sale and advertisements of these products within 24 hours.

The 25 products BSTI suspended today are Ghee of Baghabari Special Ghee, Dakksin Goran Dhaka, Semolina (Suji) of Nishita Foods, Sylhet, Turmeric Powder (Holudergura) of Manjil Foods and products, Sylhet, Honey of Green Lands Milk Products, Khulna, Turmeric Powder of Shan Food, Kushtia, Salt (Ayodinjukto Laban) of Madhumati Salt Industries, Khulna, vermicelli (LacchaSemai)  of Jedda Food Industries, Jhalakathi, Salt (Ayodinjukto Laban) of Noor Salt Industries, Jhalakathi, vermicelli (LacchaSemai) of Amrita Food Products, Barishal, salt (Ayodinjukto Laban) of New Jhalakathi Salt Mills, Jhalakathi, salt of Quality Salt Industries, Jhalakathi, salt of Lucky Salt Industries, Jhalakathi, salt of Taj Salt Industries, Jhalakathi, chili powder (Morichergura) of Kashem Traders, Rajshahi, Turmeric power (Holudergura) of Kashem traders, Rajshahi, chili powder of Amirul Traders, Rajshahi, Vermicelli (Lacchasemai) of Madhuful and Products, Sylhet, Vermicelli (Lacchasemai) of Mithai Sweets, Chattogram, flour (Moyda) of K R Food Industries, Chattogram, vermicelli (Lacchasemai) of Well Food and Beverage, Chattogram, fermented milk of Rupsa Food Products,Chattogram, biscuit of Imtiaz Bread and Food Products, Chattogram, vermicelli (lacchasemai) of Misti Mela Food products, Chattogram, chanachur of Taiyeba Food Products, Chattogram and vermicelli of Madhuban Bread and Biscuit, Chattogram.
