BNP unveils logo, theme, slogan ahead of council
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Thursday unveiled the logo, theme and slogan of its 6th national council to be held in the city on 19 March.
Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a BNP standing committee member and the chief of the party’s council preparatory committee’s sub-committee on management and publicity, revealed those at a programme at a city hotel.
He also inaugurated the activities of the management and publicity sub-committee.
The theme of the council is ‘We’ll must Free Democracy’, while the slogan ‘Corruption and Misrule will Surely Come to an End, Bangladesh will be a Democratic Country’.
The party’s council logo contains the symbol of the Liberation War and the National Mausoleum, red and green flag and BNP’s electoral symbol the sheaf of paddy.
Speaking at the programme, Gayeshwar said, ‘We want to see the light as we’re now in the dark. There’s no democracy in the country. We want to restore democracy through our council.’
He hoped their party’s leadership will be invigorated with inducting tested, competent and dedicated leaders in its various posts removing the failed ones through the council.
The party also started its campaign for the council from Thursday on social media network Facebook.
The council’s logo, various posters and objectives were shown through a projector.
The slogans and posters of BNP’s associate bodies, including Muktijoddha Dal, Sramik Dal, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Chhatra Dal, Mohila Dal, Krishak Dal, Tanti Dal, Matshajibi Dal, Ulema Dal and Jasas, made on the eve of the council were also unveiled at the programme.
BNP chairperson’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo, standing committee member Mirza Abbas’ wife Afroza Abbas and central leaders Moazzem Hossain Alal, Abul Khair Bhuiyan and leaders of the party’s associate bodies were present.
