Shibir den busted, 11 held with bombs
Benapole: Police arrested 11 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir along with 11 bombs raiding an underground den at the local office of the student body of Jamaat-e-Islami at Basundia Bazar crossing in Sadar upazila of Benapole on Thursday night, reports UNB.
The Jessore Kotwali police officer-in-charge Ilias Hossain said on secret information, a team of police first conducted a raid at the office of the Basundia unit Shibir and arrested Billal Hossain and Nuruzzaman at about 8:00pm.
Later, based on information gleaned from them, the law enforcers conducted a search in a hidden hole at the office room and found nine more Shibir men, including Al Amin, Tito and Badshah, lying inside.
Police arrested them and recovered 11 live bombs and bomb making materials from there.
The Shibir men were constructing a bunker under the earth of the office room targeting to carry out massive subversive activities, said the police.
A case was filed in this connection.
