Maritime ports asked to hoist signal No. 1
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal number one.
The depression over east-central bay and adjoining area moved slightly west-northwestwards further over the area on Wednesday morning, the UNB reported.
It was centred about 1,000km south-southwest of Chattogram port, 920km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 995km south of Mongla port and 945km south of Payra port at 6am, according to a special weather bulletin of the Met Office.
The depression is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly direction.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised not to venture into the deep sea until further notice.
