Man killed over land in Lakshmipur

Lakshmipur: A man was killed in an attack by his rivals over a land-related dispute at Charkadia village in Kamalnagar upazila in Lakshmipur on Saturday afternoon, reports local news agency.
The deceased is Al Masud Limon, believed to be in his fifties, a resident of the area.
Quoting local people, Mohammad Kabir Ahmmed, officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Al Masud and Nur Mohammad over the ownership of a piece of land.
Over the issue, they locked in an argument at about 5:30pm.
At one state, the men of Nur Mohammad beat Al Masud mercilessly, leaving him severely injured.
Later he was rushed to Kamalnagar upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
However, Nur Mohammad and his men went into hiding after the incident.
