Australian cooperation sought in Bangladesh power sector
Dhaka: State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid on Monday sought Australian experience and expertise in the development of Bangladesh’s power sector.
He made the call when Australian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Gregory A Wilcock met him at his ministry office.
‘Both of the nations could be benefited from sharing experience,’ he told the Australian envoy, adding that Bangladesh needs huge investments in the power sector.
Both the minister and the high commissioner discussed different issues in the power and energy sector, including setting up of LNG Terminal and regional cooperation.
The Australian envoy invited the minister to attend a seminar on LNG in Perth on April 11-15.
Energy Division secretary Nazim Uddin Chowdhury and senior trade and investment commissioner of Australian High Commission Nicola Watkinson were present at the meeting.
