President, PM greet new Myanmar president
Dhaka: Bangladesh has expressed its hope that Myanmar, under a new leadership, will undertake bold initiatives to infuse greater trust and understanding among the people of Bangladesh and Myanmar to unlock the true potentials of the two countries.
President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday congratulated U Htin Kyaw on his election as the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, according to the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka.
In his message, the President hoped that the election of U Htin Kyaw as Myanmar President will pave the way for greater peace, stability and development in Myanmar.
The President also expressed the hope that joint efforts of
Bangladesh and Myanmar would help make this region a better place and fulfill the aspirations of the two peoples.
In her message, the Prime Minster hoped that under the leadership of U Htin Kyaw, Myanmar would undertake bold initiatives to infuse greater trust and understanding between the people of Bangladesh and Myanmar to unlock the true potentials of the two countries.
She also conveyed to the newly elected President of Myanmar that Bangladesh would come forward to further strengthen the partnership with Myanmar based on trust and friendship.
