Gaibandha: Detective Branch of police arrested the ringleader of a robber gang along with a pistol and eight bullets from Mollar Char in Gaibandha Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.

The arrestee is Saidur Rahman.

Gaibandha DB police officer-in-charge Shamim Hasan said the Saidur Rahman-led gang had long been carrying out robbery in the char and river areas of Kurigram, Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts.

On secrete information, a team of DB police on Tuesday night conducted a drive at Mollahchar and arrested Saidur along with a pistol and eight bullets, the OC added.

Saidur was wanted in several cases filed with different police stations, including Gaibandha Sadar and Fulchhari.
