Benapole: A college student was stabbed to death by miscreants following a dispute over taking drugs in Raipara area of Jessore town on Sunday night, reports UNB.

The deceased is Hasibul Hasan Jim, 18, a student Jessore Government City College and son of Azam Tarafdar, a resident of Chormara Dighirpara area of the town.

Iliar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotowali Police Station, said Jim along with his four friends went to the house of a drug peddler in Raipara area at night.

At one stage they locked into altercation with some miscreants over taking drugs.

They stabbed Jim which left him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Following the death news, his agitated friends blasted several crude bombs in the area which left a school boy, named Antu, injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

A case was filed.
