Firearm, bullets recovered in C’nawabganj

Chapainawabganj: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered a firearm, a magazine and four rounds of bullet from Rokonpur bordering area in Gomostapur upazila on Friday.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-43 conducted a drive near sub pillar no. 219/79 of the bordering area and recovered a sack of grass at about 3:30pm, said Commanding officer of BGB-43 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Jahid Hasan.
Later the BGB members recovered a foreign made pistol and a magazine and four rounds of bullet from the sack.
However, none was arrested in this connection as the smugglers managed to flee sensing the presence of the border guards.
