Chandpur: Detectives in a drive arrested a man along with a blackstone Shiva Linga (antique statue of Hindu god Shiva) weighing around 7kg from from Kochua upazila on Saturday, reports UNB.

The arrestee is Monidra Chandra.

Being tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police, led by senior assistant police super Shakil Ahmed, raided the house of Monidra Chandra at Polashpur village in Kachua municipality at about 10:00am and recovered the touchstone Shiva Linga from under his bed.

Arrested Monidra Chandra alleged that he recovered it from a pond of his house.

Sub-inspector Fizoj Alam of the Kochua Police Station filed a case in this connection.
