Moulvibazar: Police in separate drives arrested seven alleged members of a robber gang from Kulaura upazila and deferent places of Moulvibazar on Saturday.

The arrestees are Islam, and Soleman, of Kamalganj upazila; Mostafa, and Seful, from Rajnagar upazila; Shakil, a resident of Vatera area of Kulaura upazila; Shahid, from Habiganj Sadar upazila and Anwar, from Sreemangal upazila.

Police also recovered 12 mobile phone sets, two machetes, one grill cuter and some locally-made weapons from their possession and a seized a CNG-run auto-rickshaw which were used in robberies.

At a press briefing on the Kulaura Police Station premises at about 12:00pm, police said a team of police led by Assistant Superintendent of Police of Kulaura Circle Junaid Alam Sarkar conducted those drives and arrested the robbers.

Shamshuddoha, PPM, said several cases were filed against the arrestees with different police stations.
