Sunamganj: Relatives attacked police and snatched an accused at Gochia village in Dirai upazila on early Saturday, leaving four policemen injured.                                                                                                                                                                      

Police said Dilal Hossain, 25, son of former UP member Ain Uddin of the  village, was an accused in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

Dirai Police officer-in-charge Bayes Alam said a police team arrested Dilal from his house in the early hours.

However, his relatives attacked the law enforcers and snatched Dilal while he was being taken to the police station, he said.

Later, additional force was called in who arrested five people, including a woman, in this connection.

The injured policemen were given primary treatment.
