8 indicted over Habiganj 4-children murder

Habiganj: Detectives on Tuesday pressed charges against eight people in the case of killing of four schoolboys at Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj.
Habiganj police detective branch officer-in-charge Abdul Muktadirsubmitted the chargesheet before the court.
The accused are Abdul Ali Baghal, Jewel, Habibur Rahman Arju, Rubel Miah, Shaheb Sayeb, Billal, Ustar and Babul Miah. Among the eight, the last three accused are on the run.
Earlier, on 17 February , four schoolboys were found buried at Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila, barely a week after they had gone missing.
Informed by locals, police recovered the bodies of Zakaria Ahmed Shuvo, 8, son of Wahid Miah, his two cousins -Tajel Miah, 10, son of Abdul Aziz, Monir Miah, 7, son of Abdal Miah - and Ismail Hossain, 10, son of Abdul Quadir.
A murder case was then filed with Bahubal Police Station. Later, the case was handed over to the Detective Branch of police.
Later, on 24 February, Bachchu Mia who was an accused in the four-child murder case was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Chunarughat upazila of the district.
