Man killed in B’baria clash over land
Brahamanbaria: An elderly man was killed and five others were injured in a clash over a land-related dispute at Kachua village in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased is Shahidullah, believed to be 55 years, a resident of the village.
The Nasirnagar police officer-in-charge Abdul Quader said, two groups of people—one led by Akkas and the other by his nephew Shukkur—locked into an altercation over marking the boundary of a land in the afternoon, triggering a clash.
Shahidullah moved to the spot in a bid to normalise the situation but at one stage, someone from the clashers hit him with a brickbat, leaving him dead on the spot at about 3:30pm.
On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
