Diarrhoea attacks 600 in Lakshmipur in a week

Lakshmipur: Approximately 600 people, including a large number of children, were admitted to different clinics and hospitals after being affected with diarrhoea amid sweltering heat throughout the district in the last seven days, reported UNB.
Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital Residential Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossain said nearly around 70 people were admitted to the hospital on an average daily with complications of diarrhoea.
Anwar, however, attributed the outbreak of the water-born disease in the area to consumption of rotten food, unhygienic living conditions, polluted water and scorching heat.
The doctors and nurses of the hospital are working round-the-clock to check further spread of the disease, he added.
