A bomb-like object was found in front of the residence of the vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University in Binodpur area of the city on Friday night.

Witnesses said a bomb-like object dropped in front of the RU vice-chancellor’s residence on Paris Road flying down from an unspecified direction at about 8:00pm and caused a fire, reports UNB.

RU Proctor Professor Mojibul Haq Azad informed the matter to police.

Later police recovered the bomb-like object but it could not be cleared from where the object came in, said Motihar Police Station officer-in-charge Humayun Kabir.
