Man stabbed dead in Comilla over land dispute

Comilla: A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his cousin during an arbitration following a dispute over erecting a boundary wall at Lakshmipur village in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla on Friday night.
Locals said Abdul Wadud and his cousin Nazrul of the village had been at loggerheads over demarcating a piece of land for several months.
Arbitration was arranged on Friday evening to settle the matter.
During the arbitration, an altercation ensued between the two over the issue and at one stage Nazrul stabbed Wadud and Wadu’s elder bother Zakir Hossain indiscriminately, leaving them injured.
Later Wadud was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at about 9:00pm.
Abu Salam Mia, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station, said no complaint was lodged with the police station yet.
