Rajshahi: A housewife was hacked to death allegedly by her husband over a trifling matter in Shahmakhdum area of Rajshahi city on Sunday, reports UNB.

Sheikh Mohammad Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of Shahmakhdum Police Station, said Ainal Haq, 30, son of Ekramul Haq locked into an altercation with his wife Safia Begum, 25 over a trifling matter while she was working near her house at about 10:00am.

At one stage, Ainal went to his house, brought a sharp weapon and slit her throat in the broad daylight.

Soma Begum, sister-in-law of Ainal, was injured during the attack as she tried to catch Ainal. She was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

On information, police rushed in and arrested Ainal.

Police sent the body to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
