Kurigram: A Bangladeshi was shot dead by members of Indian Security Force (BSF) in Behular Char area of Rowmari border point in Roumari upazila of Kurigram on Sunday night.

The deceased is Monser Ali, believed to be in his forties, a resident of Bamoner Char area of the upazila, also a cattle trader.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials said a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders were trying to enter the Indian Territory through the border point in order to bring cattle at about 9:30pm.

Sensing their attempt, a patrol team of BSF opened fired at the Bangladeshi cattle traders, leaving Monser bullet injuries.

Later, the injured was rushed to the upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead, said upazila health officer Mahfuza Sarker.
